Tell us about yourself?
A: Depending on the city, I’m Liliana, Lyh or Lili 😊 Potterhead with pride, makeup lover with no skills and CoD player during August 😛 I’m studying computer engineering at ISEC, doing an internship at Bloco, and lending a hand in another project. And... Well, after all this I only have time to sleep!
Not really. Actually, I have time for small but very pleasant things: a good dinner with friends, a beer on a terrace... I’m not picky as long as I’m well accompanied. And of course... Last months of my life are around Jaime - the cutest cat you’ll ever meet.
I don’t like monotony at all but I like to be quiet: I love my afternoons on the couch with no other goals than binge-watching something useless. I am not afraid of changes, I like the challenge of the unknown, I hate the feeling of not being able to do something, and... Well, my patience for slow things is really limited. I can be the drama queen on duty - a little problem can be “Jesus Christ, the world is ending” - as well the most optimistic person ever in a matter of seconds.
Also, give me pizza and I’ll be your friend forever.
If I was to ask your friends 3 words to describe you what would they be?
I asked and only got “meh” answers: tenacious, fuc_**_ perfectionist, and creative. I would rather they had said beautiful, good person, and rich 😛
I disagree a little bit with that. I’ve given up on some things in life and if you look at my code you will see that I’m not a perfectionist for sure! Creative? Oh well, I’m Pisces (jk) and yeh, I have a lot of difficulties getting out of my little world.
What was the last thing you spent time learning? Why?
Keyforge is valid for here? 🤣 I’m learning some things:
- Electronics: I really need to finish my degree and this discipline is a nightmare that doesn’t go away.
- Paging 3: in reality, I’m just being punched by this library 🤣
- Be more patient: learning things takes time and I need to understand that 😕
What are the biggest values you think your parents taught you?
My father was always guided by something I learned to value very much: attitudes stay with those who take them. Unfortunately, I also inherited his memory, which makes it very difficult to put this type of learning into practice.
What do you dream of?
I dream so much and with so many details that it would be impossible to put a description here. Perhaps the most present thing right now is building a career as a developer.
What is the biggest challenge you face learning Android Development?
Learning Android Development? 🤣 Due to my inexperience, it is often difficult to understand how the magic happens. I’m always surprised by how things work!
What does a typical day look like for you as a student and Intern?
I always wake up with Jaime meowing to play. I do everything on autopilot until I get to the office. I sit down, drink my coffee (my best friend in the mornings), review the next goals, and get my hands dirty! My day is always between effusive celebrations and sounds of utter frustration and cries for help. It’s fun even when I’m stressed because nothing works! The day always goes by too fast and then I go to ISEC to attend classes.
Most days I’m not very productive there but it is necessary. And finally, I return home to play with Jaime!
What are your go-to or "must have" apps?
Calendar - I'm anything without my agenda. Whatsapp to communicate with my friends that are in other countries. CC - terrible name - is an app that I developed to know what mascara to use when I wash my hair. Minecraft, yep, when I'm waiting for something I play Minecraft on my phone.
What apps recently blew your socks off?
Cabinet! You don’t know? Wait and see!
