Retreat to Connect: Our Annual Company Getaway
The year has just begun, and what better way to start it off right than with a company retreat? That's exactly what we did here at Bloco! We embarked on a three-day journey to Ferreira do Zêzere. Our goal was to connect with nature, recharge our batteries, and come together as a team to set the tone for a productive and successful year of 2023.
On our first day, we departed Coimbra early for Ferreira do Zêzere. There, we took care of the necessary arrangements and headed for the amazing house we rented.

Once we were settled in and had familiarized ourselves with the pool, sauna and gym (I told you, the house is amazing!), we decided to go for a walk. We explored the stunning surroundings of the Zêzere river, taking in the breathtaking views and getting to know the area.
Also, we cooked dinner together and this was a fantastic opportunity to bond: we shared stories, laughed, and enjoyed delicious food in each other's company. After that, we went to our first game night! Managing resources in Catan, or piling up Nigiris in Sushi Go!, it was a really lively night!

The second day was all about the company. In the morning, we went on a hiking trail to see the stunning landscape and the Capela de São Pedro do Castro. This was a perfect opportunity to disconnect from the daily hustle and connect with nature. The fresh air, stunning scenery, and peaceful surroundings provided a much-needed break from the city and allowed us to recharge and refocus.
In the afternoon, we dedicated time to review the past year and celebrating our achievements. We took a look at our numbers, reviewed our progress, and discussed what we could do better. This was an essential part of the retreat as it allowed us to reflect on our successes and identify areas for improvement. We worked together to establish clear goals and determine how we could best support each other in achieving them.

After hard work, some of us enjoyed the sauna and swimming pool (which the whole village heard about!), while others opted for the fireplace and the stunning view.
Finally, on the third day, we continued our exploration of the area with a hike around Cascata dos Poios, a stunning cascade that had been enchanting curious visitors. We enjoyed the views of the landscape while taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the area.

After that, we decided to take a walk along the Passadiços do Penedo Furado, a set of wood pathways that traverse the mountainous terrain and offer spectacular views of the surrounding. It was an incredible experience that we will always remember!

We returned to Coimbra silently, sad that our journey was coming to an end. However, our company retreat was a success!
We are now eager to implement all the plans we discussed!
P.S.: We had feline companionship, of course! Otherwise, it wouldn't have been Bloco's Retreat!
